Derek Leany is an industrial specialist with Newmark Mountain West based in St. George, Utah. With a passion for learning and growth, Derek began his career in the research department to build his expertise in the industry. Derek brings a diverse background in law enforcement and a strong academic foundation to his career in commercial real estate. He earned an associate’s degree while still in high school and later spent time in Argentina on a religious mission. Before transitioning to real estate, Derek served as a police officer for the City of Orem, where he developed skills in public service, problem-solving, and community engagement.

Outside of work, Derek enjoys spending time with family, golfing, playing pickleball, and camping.
