About Me

Andy Moffitt is a Senior Managing Director, Partner, and Board Member at Newmark Mountain West, and one of Utah’s leading advisors on retail real estate strategy. With nearly two decades of experience, Andy advises national retailers, institutional owners, and developers on market entry, site selection, repositioning, and long-term retail strategy across Utah and the Mountain West.

Operating across both landlord and tenant representation, Andy brings a rare dual-sided perspective to the retail market—helping best-in-class brands enter and expand throughout Utah while also representing ownership groups responsible for some of the state’s most impactful retail environments. His ability to operate credibly on both sides of the transaction allows him to anticipate demand, align tenant mix with long-term value creation, and guide deals that hold up well beyond execution.

Andy is widely recognized for his market judgment and ability to read where retail demand is heading across both urban and suburban environments. His client roster includes national and emerging brands such as Alo Yoga, Equinox, Mendocino Farms, Five Below, CorePower Yoga, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, and Ascend Hospitality, alongside ownership groups behind major developments including The Point, The Gateway, Foothill Village, Post District, WonderBlock, The Paseo, and Sugar Alley.

In 2024, Andy was named the Newmark Mountain West Ethos Award Recipient, recognizing the individual who best exemplifies the firm’s values, leadership, and professional excellence in brokerage. That same year, he was selected to lead the retail leasing team for The Point, the State of Utah’s landmark redevelopment of the former State Prison site in Draper—one of the largest mixed-use projects in the Mountain West and a defining project in Utah’s next phase of growth.

Andy consistently ranks among Newmark Mountain West’s top producers and currently serves on the firm’s Board of Directors. Beyond his brokerage practice, he is an active industry and civic leader, having moderated panels at the ULI Trends Conference and participated in multiple NAIOP Symposia. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Downtown Development Committee for the Salt Lake Downtown Alliance, helping shape conversations around growth, placemaking, and investment in Salt Lake City’s urban core.

Andy is known for a long-term, relationship-driven approach and for providing candid, data-backed advice that prioritizes durability, alignment, and outcomes that stand the test of time. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking Utah’s foothills, skiing the Wasatch, and spending time with his wife and three daughters.
