About Me
Derek Leany brings a diverse background in law enforcement and a strong academic foundation to his career in commercial real estate. He earned an associate’s degree while still in high school and later spent time in Argentina on a religious mission. Before transitioning to real estate, Derek served as a police officer for the City of Orem, where he developed skills in public service, problem-solving, and community engagement. With a passion for learning and growth, he joined the Mountain West Commercial Real Estate Research team to build his expertise in the industry.
Outside of work, Derek enjoys spending time with family, golfing, playing pickleball, and camping.
