HOUSING FOR SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

COMING TO UTAH COUNTY

Mountain West Commercial Facilitates Deal with Utah Regional Housing Corporation

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah- Survivors of domestic violence will be receiving more options for safe housing accommodations in Utah County. Recently, the state of Utah approved a grant to help the Utah Regional Housing Corporation purchase multifamily housing units for victims of domestic violence who need an affordable, supportive housing solution.

โ€œUtah Regional Housing Corporation, in partnership with The Refuge Utah, are excited to provide affordable permanent supportive housing to families that have become homeless after experiencing domestic violence,โ€ said Provo City Housing Authority CEO Robert Vernon. โ€œMary and Bill Street are valued members of our team as we search for and acquire properties to meet the needs of low-income individuals and families in Utah County.โ€

Mountain West Commercial Real Estate agents Mary and Bill Street represent the Utah Regional Housing Corporation and helped facilitate the acquisition of four 4-plexes (16 units) for the program. The total cost for the 16 units is estimated at $5 million.

Initially, the Corporation asked the Street Team to identify up to $16 million in multifamily housing units for survivors of domestic violence and low-income or the homeless. But ultimately the State of Utah only approved the portion of the Corporationโ€™s grant application for victims of domestic violence. The Corporation plans to apply for future grant money to help those in need.
