MWCRE’s Wes Christensen attended The Lodging Conference in Phoenix and says most owners are more worried about debt maturities, cost of capital and how those factors impact transactions. Hotels are still performing well, and rate growth continues to increase but the cost of capital for buyers in transactions has not been this expensive in quite some time. That, coupled with a wave of loan maturities that will be coming over this year or next year, is top of mind for most owners.
