First Annual Race Day
May 12, 2017: At the first annual Mountain West Race Day, Troy “Slow T” Hardy threw off his nickname, beating Taylor “T-Biscuit” Moore by almost a full second. Hardy ran the 100M in 9.51 seconds while Moore took 10.40 seconds. Hardy, the 40-year-old with size 10.5 feet and a running style described by some as “pronate,” took the opportunity of his victory to rename his 24-year-old, size-14 opponent “T-Not-So-Mobile,” proving that age and shoe size don’t correlate to speed and grace.
Before the main event was run, eleven 40M races took place. It was a fun-filled afternoon full of interesting fashion choices. The sun was high and the wind was up, making both visibility and running in a straight line difficult for some.
MW Managing Director Chad Moore remarked, “The culture at Mountain West is unique. In an industry notorious for its competitive environment, we have assembled and fostered a team of people who remain as competitive as ever in the industry but support each other first. It’s the ‘open door’ environment at Mountain West that gives us our competitive advantage in the marketplace, working as a collective team to service our clients.”
